Tribals of Kandhamal traditionally cultivate mustard on uplands. Since around 73% of Kandhamals geographical area is forested and 83 % of the cultivable area is upland crops taken by tribals on upland assume significance. As a strategy to strengthen upland cultivation the administration has decided to give emphasis on Hoticulure with Maiz for Kharif and Mustard for Rabi as inter crops. Both the crops are well known to the people and they cultivate them traditionally. This Kharif Maiz was expanded three times i.e. 6700 acres and massive expansion of Mustard was done on 14150 acres for Rabi. Kandhamal farmers saw mustard in the month of Octumber in order to capitalise the residual moisture. Keeping this in mind Seed was made available to willing farmers at nominal cost in each GP headquarter on 5th to 7th Oct. Almost Q 450 seed was distributed in watershed areas, OTELP areas, Farmers Club and to all willing farmers at GP level. Farmers who were not able to cultivate in Kharif because of scanty rainfall were given preference. Massive awareness campaign was also unvailed in order to dessiminate the information about the crop and related information. This effort is likely to have impact on the topography and economy of the district.

Being a native of Daringbadi,I could say that such kind of thought process would increase the sustainable livlihood of tribals.
This would be a good initiative indeed.
ReplyDeleteThose who are dependent upon agriculture,will have a better chance of earning. It will also boost overall economy of the district & simultaneously reduce the burden on government.This scheme must be implemented in true spirit, The agriculture department & concerned NGO must work in synchronism to motivate the farmers.

Massive scale mustrad cultivation have drastically decreased in the recent years.

The Agriculture Department in grassroot level must impart a good training to the interested farmers on the subject.

ReplyDeleteIn govt. Letter no-25114 Date-03-10-12 of school and mass education dep. Posting of Hindi contract teacher in high school if trained are not available then untrained ( like ratna , shastri ,snatak ,Praveen also posting less qualification) and
ADVERTISEMENT FOR ENGAGEMENT OF CONTRACT TEACHERS IN GOVERNMENT and up grade high school session 2012-13 apply more untrained for Hindi post because trained are available 3 IN OUR DIST (in total odisha around 150) every applicant for Hindi post apply cost ( affidavit Rs 150 + IPO Rs 50 + from and postal Rs 50)= Total cost Rs 200
But some dist like kandhamal,rayagada are untrained hindi applicant mark not publish provisional list contract Hindi teacher 2012-13 also write remark no requisite qualification why ?
Now question who is responsible for the every applicant for Hindi post apply cost ( affidavit Rs 150 + IPO Rs 50 + from and postal Rs 50)= Total cost Rs 200
i.e-untrained applicant are more than 803 (in govt and upgrade KANDHAMAL DEO)
So i request you please take step in this case.
